AOT named World's Best
Just four months after launch, Act of Treason Australian Agave has completed a clean sweep of Gold medals at the three most prestigious international spirits competitions and been named the World’s Best Speciality Spirit.
At the World Drinks Awards, Act of Treason was denied entry into the tequila or mezcal category, but that setback didn’t stop it from claiming a Gold medal and being named the World’s Best Speciality Spirit.
The brand was also awarded a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in early May, and today it received its third gold from as many attempts, scoring 95 points at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London to complete a clean sweep at the year’s most coveted spirits competitions.
Top Shelf International CEO Trent Fraser said:
“We’ve sent Act of Treason around the world in the last few months and it has returned home with a bag full of gold medal and the title of world’s best. The speed at which the brand has been recognised internationally is beyond our expectations, and the accolades are confirmation of our long-held belief that Australia can produce world-class, 100% agave spirit.
“The response from the industry and consumers to the launch of Act of Treason has been phenomenal. We have been blown away by the interest, with demand outstripping supply in the first 4 months.
“We don’t mind what category Act of Treason is placed in these spirits competition. It’s shown it can consistently shine against the very best no matter where it’s placed.”
